Guys Who Cheat Can Now Blame It On Their Genes

Here's the latest reason men find it so hard to be faithfulul. Research out of Sweden finds a connection between guys who cheat and their genes.  It appears that there is a gene variant that's in 2 out of every 5 men and if you have it, you're more likely to stray. The researchers also found that if you have two copies of the gene variant or allele, you're twice as likely to get yourself into trouble.

The allele study conducted by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm regulates the activity of a hormone in the brain and how it affects a man's attitudes toward fidelity and monogamy. More than 1,000 heterosexual couples were studied. The scientists looked at men because the hormone is known to play a larger role in their brains than in women's brains.

Psychologist Dr. Glenn Pollack sees the study as a positive tool for proactive marriage counseling. Does that mean men would have to have their DNA analyzed beforehand to determine if he's simply a horn dog or is genetically deficient?

I think we need some more research before we can figure out what drives the mating habits of the male species.
